After a storm overnight Friday was milder than anticipated, the National Weather Service in Duluth is expecting another severe thunderstorm in the Northland with possibility of large hail and sporadic damaging winds.
The hailstorm will be scattered in nature as will the potential for wind damage, said Joe Moore, warning coordination meteorologist at with the weather service in Duluth.
"It's going to be probably just straight-line wind, we may see a tornado, but it's more likely that we just see a lot of really strong winds," Moore said around 3:30 p.m. Saturday.
The weather service is anticipating the storm to start around 7 p.m. in central Minnesota before developing across northeast Minnesota and especially into northwest Wisconsin.
"I don't think this is going to be like an all-night storm; events should be pretty quick," Moore said.

The areas with the greatest risk for severe weather are Brainerd, Mille Lacs, Hinckley, Cloquet and northwest Wisconsin.
There's a marginal to slight potential for flash flooding in northeast Minnesota and northwest Wisconsin.
While the possibility of a tornado is low, Moore encouraged people to be on the lookout for a tornado warning.
"Remember a tornado warning means that the threat is here and urgent," Moore said.
