As Forum Communications' director of content, Steve Wagner serves as the point person for content strategy and projects for the company's 30-plus newspapers. He oversees operations of Forum News Service, a regional wire provider to more than 100 newspapers, and guides newsroom collaboration between The Forum newspaper and WDAY TV. Wagner also conducts training related to content, reporting and newsroom advancement. Previously, he served as editor at the Grand Forks (N.D.) Herald and Bemidji (Minn.) Pioneer, and worked in writing and editing roles at The Forum, where he won numerous awards for news reporting.

FARGO — Forum Communications, a family-owned company operating multimedia properties in four states, has entered into an agreement to purchase the Rochester Post Bulletin from Small Newspaper Group. The sale was announced Thursday, May 16, to the Post Bulletin staff and is expected to take effect June 1. Small Newspaper Group President Len R. Small told the employees the new owners are “worthy custodians” of the company.
ST. PAUL — Ever since the Eveleth Golden Bears took the ice at the St. Paul Auditorium in 1945, high school players have dreamed of playing in the Minnesota State High School League boys’ state hockey tournament. With a 16-0 win over Granite Falls in the quarterfinals, Eveleth established the tournament record for the largest margin of victory — a mark that still stands 75 years later.

DETROIT LAKES, Minn. — Three people escaped a vehicle after it broke through the ice Sunday, Dec. 24, on Little Detroit Lake here. The Becker County Sheriff’s Office said the occupants of a 1999 Chevrolet Suburban escaped by breaking and exiting the driver’s side window after the vehicle fell into ice covering approximately 11 feet of water. The incident was reported at 6:40 p.m. Sunday to the Sheriff’s Office.
At the start of 2017, Nick Symmonds announced this would be his last year of competitive running. But that doesn’t mean the hard-charging middle distance runner is any less motivated. Symmonds, a six-time U.S. 800 meter champion and two-time Olympian, is lacing up for one final race as a professional runner before turning his attention to professional mountain climbing and growing Run Gum, a company he started in a quest to find a better product to boost performance.

LONGVILLE, Minn. — Two women were found dead inside a house destroyed by fire just after midnight Thursday, July 20. Cass County Sheriff Tom Burch reported the sheriff’s office responded to a fire at 12:34 a.m. Friday at a residence in Kego Township, in rural Longville. When deputies and responders arrived on scene the home was fully engulfed. Efforts to extinguish the fire began immediately.
