BRISTOL, Tenn. -- After his car took a nasty bash to its rear end just a lap and a half into Sunday's Food City 500, it looked like Kyle Busch's bid to win his third race of the season was doomed. The Las Vegas native and the winner of 203 races across NASCAR's three elite series battled back, took the lead for the first time with 117 laps to go, took it again by staying out on old tires during a caution with 20 laps to go and went on to win at Bristol Motor Speedway.

On the back of fifth-year senior graduate transfer guard Matt Mooney's 22 points, Texas Tech came out firing in the second half and held off a Spartans' rally.
