Minnesota Hockey, in conjunction with USA Hockey, is offering 73 free events around the state today for youngsters ages 4-9 interested in learning more about the sport.
Players are invited to their local rinks to try hockey for free. Equipment will be provided, and no experience is required. Several locations will get visits from Minnesota Wild mascot Nordy, Fox Sports North personalities and an assortment of high school coaches.
There are a handful of events taking place locally, including one in Duluth at 5:15 p.m. at the Heritage Sports Center. To find a listing of host locations, go to minnesotahockey.org.
