Senior outside hitter Katie Ledwell had 16 kills and four service aces and junior outside hitter Mariah Scharf finished with a team-high 20 kills to lead Minnesota Duluth to a 3-1 victory over Upper Iowa in a Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference match Saturday at Fayette, Iowa.
Junior middle blocker Monica Turner knocked down 13 kills while hitting a team-high .632, and senior right-side hitter Maddy Siroin rounded out the attack with 10 kills as the Bulldogs won 25-15, 18-25, 25-20, 25-15. The second-set loss ended a run of 25 consecutive sets won but the second-ranked Division II team in the country extended its match winning streak to nine.
Senior libero Julie Rainey made 23 digs and junior setter Ashley Hinsch had 53 assists for UMD (15-1 overall, 8-0 NSIC).
