Wisconsin-Superior swept a nonconference baseball doubleheader from North Central University on Tuesday at Ted Whereatt Field, 8-0 and 15-0.

With the victories, the Yellowjackets reached 15 wins for the first time in a season since 1974.

UWS junior Bill Ryan pitched a seven-inning complete game to lead the Yellowjackets in the opener. Ryan allowed just three hits and struck out two. Freshman shortstop Mitch Loegering had a triple and three RBIs and senior Steve Basty added a hit and two RBIs to pace the UWS offense.

In the second game, UWS pitchers Ryan Sepion and Peter Devine combined on a three-hit shutout, with five strikeouts each. Freshman Alex Gornick of Chisholm provided the bulk of the offense for the Yellowjackets (15-19), going 3-for-3 with four RBIs, while teammate Rhett Williamson was 2-for-3 with three runs and three RBIs.

UWS hosts Wisconsin-La Crosse in a pair of Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference doubleheaders at noon on Friday and Saturday at Ted Whereatt Field.
