Florida Golf Coast’s Brady Anderson allowed just one hit and struck out five in eight innings to lead the Willmar Stingers to a 7-0 Northwoods League victory over the Duluth Huskies on Wednesday before 962 at Bill Taunton Stadium in Willmar, Minn.
Sean Beesley and Brian Pruett had two hits apiece, while Alex Borglin added a hit and three runs and Scotty Smith had a double and two RBIs for the Stingers (6-3), who won their second straight.
Duluth (3-6), which lost its second straight, had more errors than hits (4 to 2). Alex Greene and Dominic Brugnoni had singles for the Huskies.
The same teams rematch at 7:05 p.m. today in Willmar before Duluth returns home for a pair of games against Rochester on Friday and Saturday at Wade Stadium.
