Wild fall to Columbus in shootout

Ryan Johansen benefited from video review to score in the fourth round of the shootout as visiting Columbus improved to 6-1-1 in its last eight games with a 2-1 victory over Minnesota.
Johansen skated in and made a series of moves, avoided an attempted poke check by Darcy Kuemper and backhanded the puck into the net. While Johansen began to celebrate, the officials originally dismissed the apparently tally by ruling that Kuemper touched the puck - thereby ending the sequence. The play went to review and the officials changed their stance, noting that Kuemper did not make contact and allowed the goal to stand.
Defenseman Dalton Prout scored late in the second period and Sergei Bobrovsky turned aside 32 shots for the Blue Jackets, who moved even in points with the idle New York Rangers for second place in the Metropolitan Division.
Jason Pominville scored his team-leading 25th goal and defenseman Ryan Suter notched his club-best 30th assist for the Wild, who have dropped four of their last five (1-1-3).
