Wednesday Night at the Races holds first event of 2022 in Superior

The free summer racing series for kids is put on by Grandma's Marathon and the Young Athletes Foundation.

SUPERIOR — Wednesday Night at the Races kicked off its 2022 season Wednesday at Superior High School. The event, put on by Grandma's Marathon and the Young Athletes Foundation, is free and open to all children 14 and under. According to event officials 283 children participated in Wednesday's event.

Future sites this summer include Cloquet High School on July 27, Proctor High School on Aug. 3, Duluth East High School on Aug. 10, Hermantown High School on Aug. 17 and the season finale at Wade Stadium in Duluth on Aug. 24. Registration for each event opens at 5 p.m. and races start at 6 p.m. Participants can also pre-register at youngathletesfoundation.com .
