John Tourville, operations director for the city of Virginia, was injured Saturday afternoon in a hunting accident involving a city councilor.

Tourville, 56, of Chisholm, was hunting grouse with Charles R. Baribeau, 64, of Virginia, when he was struck by about eight pellets in the face, neck, chest, arm and hand. The injuries resulted when Baribeau fired a single round at a grouse that had flushed, according to a report by the St. Louis County Sheriff's Department. The men were hunting about 20 miles south of Aurora in thick cover. They were about 25 yards apart at the time of the accident.

Baribeau drove Tourville to the University Medical Center in Hibbing for treatment following the incident, which was reported 2:37 p.m. Saturday. Tourville's injuries were not life-threatening, according to the sheriff's department.
