UWS woman qualifies for NCAA championships

Wisconsin-Superior junior thrower Katie Capriglione received word Sunday night that she has qualified for the NCAA Division III track and field championships May 26-28 in Delaware, Ohio.

Wisconsin-Superior junior thrower Katie Capriglione received word Sunday night that she has qualified for the NCAA Division III track and field championships May 26-28 in Delaware, Ohio.

Capriglione ranks 21st in the country in the hammer throw with a season-best 164-foot, 9-inch heave April 16 at the Holst Invitational in St. Paul.

"I've watched Katie work over the last two years and she is such a talented thrower," UWS coach Glen Drexler said. "I really think that she's only scratching the surface on how good she can be."
