The Minnesota Duluth football team is No. 9 in the latest NCAA Division II rankings by the American Football Coaches Association and D2Football.com, tying the highest ranking in team history.
UMD is also No. 2 in the first NCAA Division II Super Regional Three rankings that determine which teams make the playoffs, released Monday.
The Bulldogs are off to a6-0 start and 5-0 mark in the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference, topping 40 points in a school-record six straight contests. UMD will host Northern State at 1 p.m. Saturday in the Bulldogs' homecoming.
UMD has been ranked No. 9 on three previous occasions: in the AFCA D-II poll on Sept. 9, 2003 and in the NCAA D-II poll in 1980 and 1981.
