Ron Deters of Duluth helped the U.S. Senior Open men's team place second Thursday in the 1,000-meter final at the 10th World Dragon Boat Racing Championships in Tampa, Fla. Russia won the event.
The U.S. Premier Women, with Maren Hagen of Grand Rapids, placed second behind Canada. Christine Hansen of Duluth and the U.S. Senior A women were third.
In other results, Clara Salveson and Lani Dalbacka of Duluth were third with the American Junior A team, and Hagen was on the third-place Grand Masters team.
