Andrew Grabarkewitz scored 24 points as Wisconsin-Superior won its fifth-straight UMAC Men’s Indoor Track and Field Championship Saturday at St. Scholastica.
UWS won four events and its depth won out as the Yellowjackets pulled away for a 54-point victory. UWS finished with 143 points, followed by Northwestern (89), Minnesota-Morris (86), St. Scholastica (85), Crown ( 61) and Bethany Lutheran (58).
Grabarkewitz, a freshman from Grand Rapids, won the pole vault in 3.70 meters (12 feet, 1.5 inches), as well as a second in the 400 meters (52.34 seconds) and a third in the 200 (23.46). Teammate Tyler Finger won the 800 in 2:04.85, Brett Goplen won the 60 hurdles in 9.08 and the Yellowjackets won the 800 relay in 1:35.88.
St. Scholastica also won four events: Jamaican Malcolm Lumsden in the 60 (7.08) and 200 (23.16), Jericho Peterson of Mountain Iron in the 400 (51.85) and the distance medley relay (11:14.01).
