Former Cromwell assistant coach John Grones has been hired as the head women's basketball coach at Fond du Lac Tribal and Community College.
Grones replaces Jen MacKay, who resigned shortly before the season, which was canceled because of a lack of players. Grones looks forward to rebuilding the program and will rely on his local contacts to try to increase program participation.
Grones served as a Cromwell girls basketball assistant from 2006 to 2010 and was with the Cardinals' boys program from 2002 to 2006. He previously coached at McGregor, Norman County East and Hills Beaver Creek and has been active in organizing summer basketball camps and tournaments.
