Elliot Schneider teamed with Jack Kearney to rally and win a doubles match and then clinched St. Scholastica’s 19th UMAC men’s tennis title with a victory in singles to beat Wisconsin-Superior 5-4 Friday at Longview Tennis Club in Duluth.

Schneider, a Duluth East graduate, and Kearney of Hibbing won 8-6 over UWS’ Gergo Potz Nagy and Andre Luiz at No. 1 doubles. Schneider then defeated Potz Nagy 6-4, 6-1 at No. 1 singles.

The Saints’ Giacomo Lucchesi was a double winner as well, beating Lorenzo Silva 6-2, 6-0 at No. 5 singles and teaming with Reece Patten to win at No. 3 doubles.

Michael Janes and Jacob Zacharias each won singles matches for the Yellowjackets and teamed to win at No. 2 doubles.

The Saints will find out Monday who they will play in their second appearance in NCAA Division III regional play.
