Adam Swank of Duluth led a field of 153 to win the 33rd Tofte Trek 10-kilometer trail race on July 4. He was first in 38 minutes, 52 seconds, and Kieran Scannell of Grand Marais was second in 39:10. Kaelyn Williams of Golden Valley, Minn., won the women's division in 44:03, and Leslie Semler of Hermantown was next in 45:43.
r Brendan O'Flanagan of St. Paul won the inaugural Zorbaz on the Lake Triathlon on July 4 in Grand Rapids. O'Flanagan, 35, covered a 1/3-mile swim, 14-mile bike ride and 3.2-mile run in 1:04:04 to lead a field of 60. Elaine Nelson, 33, of Duluth was second overall in 1:10:40, and Bill Kelley, 40, of Wrenshall was third in 1:10:49.
