ST. CLOUD -- Hannah Anderson knocked in a rebound goal in the fifth minute to give Rochester Lourdes a 1-0 lead over Esko-Carlton after one half of their Class A state tournament quarterfinal tonight at St. Cloud State University.
Anderson, a senior forward, scored her 17th goal of the season when she kicked home one of several rebound attempts by the third-seeded Eagles (17-1-1).
The Eskomos (13-5-1) nearly equalized twice in the final minutes of the half via star striker Caitlin Lilly. Lilly drove a shot from about 30 yards that goalkeeper Marissa DeCecco tipped over the crossbar, then flicked a crossing pass wide left with 30 seconds left.
The winner faces Blake, a 4-0 winner over Bemidji, in a semifinal at noon Monday at the Metrodome in Minneapolis.
