ST. PAUL -- Duluth East held Moorhead to one shot on goal in the first period of today's Class AA boys hockey state tournament quarterfinal, but the northern high schools are scoreless at Xcel Energy Center.

The third-ranked Greyhounds controlled the action, keeping the puck in the Spuds' zone the majority of the period. But sophomore goaltender Jacob Dittmer kept East off the scoreboard by stopping all 10 shots.

The winner advances to play either Edina or Lakeville North in Friday night's 6 p.m. semifinal.
