Streak snapped, but Saints split
Northland snapped St. Scholastica's seven-game winning streak with an 11-5 victory before the Saints rebounded to take the second game 6-3 in an Upper Midwest Athletic Conference doubleheader on Tuesday at Kenwood Field.
Kristin Zimmer pitched a two-hitter to lead Northland (11-25 overall, 8-13 UMAC) in the first game, while Theresa Tauer had a home run and four RBIs to pace the Saints.
Senior Jen Falk struck out six and allowed just five hits and two earned runs to lead St. Scholastica (24-12, 19-2) in the second game, while Tauer added another home run and three more RBIs.
