Alayna DeGraef’s game-winning hit in the sixth inning and Haley Zembo’s 15 strikeouts keyed Superior’s 3-2 victory over Cloquet in a Lake Superior Conference softball game Tuesday at Braun Park.

The Spartans improved to 3-0 on the season.

Brenna McClarey drove in both of the runs for the Lumberjacks (5-2), while Amanda Paul scattered nine hits and allowed just two earned runs.

The Eskomos improved to 8-0 as Noah Furcht drove in two runs to back Tyler Koskela’s three-hitter in the Polar League win at Grand Marais.

Esko will host South Ridge (8-1), an 11-1, five-inning winner over Barnum, on Thursday.
