Olivia Howe hit one of three St. Scholastica home runs in the opening game and then eked out a 4-2 complete-game win in the nightcap of a UMAC doubleheader sweep of the University of Northwestern on Saturday in St. Paul.
Howe, Nicole Anders and Haley Rosenthal homered during a 5-4 first-game win that ended with Howe recording the final two outs to stem a two-run Northwestern seventh inning.
Howe had three of the 13 hits by the Saints (19-3 overall, 4-0 UMAC) and Mara Seurer drove in two runs.
CSS struggled to put away the Eagles (8-18, 3-3) in the second game, scraping out single runs in the first, third, fifth and sixth innings. Howe allowed 10 hits and struck out only two but raised her record to 10-1 this season.
