Sam Pederson tossed a three-hitter in the first game and Lauren Dixon threw a four-hit shutout in the nightcap as Minnesota Duluth defeated Minot State 5-1 and 1-0 in an NSIC doubleheader sweep Saturday in Minot, North Dakota.

Pederson, who recorded a no-hitter earlier in the week, struck out five and walked three to raise her record to 6-1.

Jessica Bren was 2-for-3, including a triple, and drove in three runs for the Bulldogs (18-6).

Jordyn Thomas’ RBI single drove in Lauren Oberle in the first inning of the second game and that run stood up behind the freshman Dixon. The Beavers (12-12) registered three hits off Dixon in the bottom of the seventh but couldn’t score.
