Sydney Rader and Kaili Hinds earned pitching wins to lead Missouri Western to a 10-1 and 4-0 nonconference sweep of Minnesota Duluth on Monday in St. Joseph, Missouri.
The Bulldogs came in having scored 42 runs in four wins over the weekend but couldn’t generate the offense against the Griffons.
Monday’s first game lasted only five innings as Rader allowed just three hits and one run while striking out three, and Sydni Hawkins and Chloe Armstrong hit home runs. Lauren Oberle had a double and RBI, and Taylor Koehnen had a hit and run to lead UMD.
Hinds and Kelly Uthe combined on a two-hit shutout in the rematch with five strikeouts.
Brea Blanton had two hits, two runs and an RBI to lead Missouri Western (9-1) while Oberle and Koehnen had the lone hits for UMD (6-4).
