Senior first baseman Jordyn Thomas of Hermantown finished with five home runs in four games as Minnesota Duluth capped off a pair of weekend sweeps with a 14-7 victory over Northwest Missouri State and 9-2 over Pittsburg State Sunday at the PSU Softball Complex in Pittsburg, Kansas.

The Bulldogs had seven home runs Sunday to finish with 13 home runs on the weekend.

Thomas, Jessica Bren and Elle Potts all hit home runs as the Bulldogs pounded out 14 hits in the win over Northwest Missouri State. Kaitlyn Weis and Abby Nolte hit home runs to lead the Bearcats (5-3).

Thomas connected for two home runs against Pittsburg State. Emma Frost and Kelly Swank also went deep, and pitchers Sam Pederson and Lauren Dixon combined on the six-hitter with six strikeouts to lead UMD (6-2). Paxtyn Hayes and Kaity Kukowski scored the only runs in the fourth inning for the Gorillas (4-8).

On Saturday, UMD downed Northwest Missouri 11-1 and Pittsburg State 8-3.
