Both of Duluth's public high schools will enter Minnesota State High School League boys soccer postseason play as the top seeds in their section tournaments after brackets were released on Sunday.

Duluth East (14-1-1) will be the top seed in the first Section 7AAA tournament held, as the MSHSL added a third class this season. Their first game is Tuesday at 7 p.m. against Cambridge-Isanti (0-11-1) at Ordean Stadium.

In 7AA, Duluth Denfeld (12-4) is the top seed and has a first-round bye in the seven-team tournament. The Hunters will join Thursday after Tuesday's quarterfinals pitting No. 2 Grand Rapids (10-2-4) vs. No. 7 North Branch (5-7-2), No. 3 Cloquet-Esko-Carlton (9-4-2) vs. No. 6 Mesabi East (5-7-2) and No. 4 Hermantown (8-6-2) vs. No. 5 Hibbing/Chisholm (7-9). The higher seed in each matchup will have homefield advantage.

In the 7A tournament, No. 8 Two Harbors (0-11) will face top-seeded Proctor (6-9-1) when that tournament begins on Thursday, while No. 3 Duluth Marshall (7-8-1) is on the other side of the bracket, hosting No. 6 Lakes International Language Academy (3-11).

On the girls' side, East will get at least one home game after it landed the 4 seed in the 7AAA tournament. The Greyhounds (8-6-2) will host Coon Rapids (5-9-1) on Tuesday at 5 p.m.

Cloquet-Carlton (14-2) is the top seed in 7AA and advances to the semifinal round on Thursday. The other six teams to sort out the quarterfinals on Tuesday will be No. 2 Grand Rapids (11-3-1) vs. No. 7 Mesabi East (1-11), No. 3 North Branch (11-4-1) vs. No. 6 Hibbing/Chisholm (2-12) and No. 4 Hermantown (6-8-2) vs. No. 5 Duluth Denfeld (6-8-1).

Esko (8-7) will have homefield advantage throughout the Section 7A tournament and will play Wednesday vs. Two Harbors or North Lakes Academy. Other local schools in the bracket include No. 6 Proctor (at Spectrum) and No. 7 Duluth Marshall (at Lakes International Language Academy).
