Duluth East’s Jackson DesCombaz’s shot off the crossbar from 26 yards out got past Duluth Denfeld goalie Conrad Lazarro to help lift the Greyhounds to a 3-2 home win Thursday, Sept. 23.

The Greyhounds found themselves tied at halftime after Parker Chastey scored on a penalty kick midway through the first half. Evan Tomczyk and DesCombaz each scored in the second half to give East a two-goal lead with about 10 minutes to play.

Gus Haugen scored in the 73rd minute to cut into the lead, but the Hunters couldn’t put another shot past Elijah Kramer to send the game into extra time.

The Greyhound defense held the Hunters scoreless for nearly 50 minutes of the contest and seventh straight win.

The Hunters lost for the first time in September.
