The Duluth FC soccer club will not have a summer season in 2020.

The National Premier Soccer League, of which Duluth FC is a part, announced Thursday that its 2020 schedule under the current structure has been canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The move was made after the United State Adult Soccer Association extended its ban on activity until April 30.

The announcement from the league also cited the recommendation by the Center for Disease Control and Prevention that there be no group activities through May 10.

Duluth FC was scheduled to open the 2020 season on May 9 against the Milwaukee Torrent in Milwaukee before hosting La Crosse Aris FC on May 16 at Duluth East High School.
