The St. Scholastica girls soccer team earned a spot in the UMAC championship match with a 2-0 win over Martin Luther on Wednesday in the conference tournament semifinals at Saints Field.

Morgan Friday scored her 25th goal of the season in the 19th minute unassisted, then headed in a corner kick from Janelle Rouillard in the 22nd minute for a 2-0 lead.

CSS goalkeeper Alexa Gothard made one save to record her ninth shutout of the year.

The Saints (13-7-0) play Northwestern in the UMAC championship match at 1 p.m. Saturday at Saints Field.

  • Northwestern's Emily Currie scored on a penalty kick in the 12th minute, then scored on an assist from Anna Welch in the 29th minute as the Eagles defeated Wisconsin-Superior 2-0 on Wednesday in a UMAC tournament semifinal in Roseville.

Northwestern plays St. Scholastica for the UMAC championship at 1 p.m. Saturday.
