The St. Scholastica men's soccer team defeated No. 3 seed Bethany Lutheran College 3-0 in Wednesday's UMAC Tournament Semifinal at Saints Field.
The Saints' Malcolm Lumsden found Nolan Friday for a goal in the fifth minute to put St. Scholastica up 1-0. The Saints added to their lead in the 12th minute when Lumsden and Friday reversed roles for a 2-0 lead.
In the 62nd minute, Friday passed to Ken Pryde for the Saints' third goal.
CSS' Corey Bulheller recorded two saves for his seventh shutout of the season.
The Saints (8-12-1) play Wisconsin-Superior in the UMAC championship match for a fifth-straight year on Saturday at a time to be determined.
- Top-seeded Wisconsin-Superior defeated Martin Luther College 6-0 in the other semifinal on Wednesday.
The Yellowjackets (15-3-2) got two goals and two assists from Blake Perry and Eric Watson and Blake Doyea both had a goal and an assist. Blake Hanson and Pontus Tavemark also scored goals. Goalkeeper Dalton VonKaenel played the first 77 minutes for the win, with Ulrik Lager finishing the match.
