Duluth skier Katie Vesterstein won the Bryce Astle Memorial Western Region FIS Elite Slaloms on Tuesday at Snowbird Ski Resort in Salt Lake City, Utah.
Racing in the U-19 class, Vesterstein completed two runs in a combined 1 minute, 37.85 seconds, nearly a second ahead of runner-up Ann-Kathrin Breuning. Vesterstein had the best first run and third-best second run.
Vesterstein races for the Rowmark Ski Academy out of Park City, Utah.
