River Bats outslug Duluth Huskies to earn win

Nyisztor paced the River Bats in the first inning with a two-run double to help St. Cloud (4-3 second half, 24-18 overall) score three runs in the first, second and fourth innings as Duluth got off to a bad start to its 12-game homestand.

John Schultz and Devon Rodriguez had three hits each as the River Bats had 14 hits and took advantage of three Huskies' errors.

Cody Asche had three hits, including a triple, to lead Duluth (3-3, 20-17), while teammates Tyler Erickson and Jeff Reynolds added two hits apiece. The Huskies had 10 hits and eight walks but stranded 12 base runners.

The same teams rematch at 7:05 p.m. today at Wade Stadium.
