Four second-period goals, scored in just over two minutes, sparked No. 5-ranked Minnesota Duluth to a 6-0 win over Minnesota State-Mankato in a Western Collegiate Hockey Association women's game Sunday afternoon before 298 fans at the DECC.
The Bulldogs (3-1 and 3-1 WCHA) led 2-0 after one period and then scored two goals in 13 seconds, three goals in 1:50 and four in 2:19 in the first seven minutes of the second period to go up 6-0.
After Haley Irwin and Gina Dodge put the Bulldogs ahead with unassisted first-period goals, Swedish Olympians Elin Holmlov and Pernilla Winberg combined for the next three. Holmlov had two goals and Winberg a goal and an assist.
Sophomore Jennifer Harss earned the victory with 26 saves and is 30-8-2 in two seasons with six shoutouts.
UMD, outshooting Mankato 53-26, earned a share of first place in the WCHA, with North Dakota.

Mankato (1-2-1 and 0-2) started Alli Altmann in goal and switched to Daniielle Butters six minutes into the second period.
The Bulldogs are home this Saturday and next Sunday against Connecticut.
