Twenty-five years ago this summer in 1985, I had the privilege of running my first marathon in Duluth at Grandma's Marathon. After that first experience I was hooked and continued to run marathons, traveling around the country, but also coming back to Duluth on the third Saturday of June many times.
This summer I had the honor of running my 100th marathon, back in Duluth, and I had the time of my life (again). I may not run 100 more marathons, but I can guarantee I'll be running a bunch more Grandma's. Moreover, it's the volunteers, spectators and the city itself that keeps me coming back. See you all in 2011!
