Proctor played its ninth game of the 2012 high school baseball season on May 3.

Ben Nelson tossed a two-hitter and struck out eight to become the 10th pitcher in school history to surpass 100 career strikeouts. Nelson also had three RBIs and capped a five-run seventh inning with a two-run single.

The host Tigers (6-2) scored five runs in the fifth inning as Angel Dahl homered and winning pitcher Kacey Herring had a three-run triple.
Nashwauk-Keewatin 4, Chisholm 3
Cassie Holmbeck scored the winning run on a bases-loaded walk in the bottom of the seventh inning as the Spartans edged the Bluestreaks.

Savage, Mullins meets called off
Today's Doc Savage boys track meet in Hibbing and the E.R. Mullins girls meet in Nashwauk have been called off due to poor weather conditions.

Stafne gets nod as Duluth coach
Cory Stafne has been recommended to the Duluth School Board for approval as the new head coach of the Duluth Northern Stars.
Stafne has coached the Duluth Icebreakers youth team the past three years.
