WEST BURLINGTON, Iowa -- An umpire emptied the stands at a high school baseball game on Thursday, ejecting the entire crowd of more than 100 fans for being unruly.

Umpire Don Briggs said he had no problem with any of the student athletes during the game between Winfield-Mount Union and West Burlington.

He said he had to take action because fans were being unruly, yelling and arguing.

However, West Burlington Superintendent James Sleister said he didn't see any unusual behavior and said he thought the umpire overreacted.

The game resumed after a 40-minute delay. West Burlington won 12-11.

The umpire called police as a precaution. West Burlington police did not immediately respond Saturday to a call seeking comment.

'Wolves work out group of draft prospects

MINNEAPOLIS -- The Minnesota Timberwolves are working out another group of draft prospects.

They were scheduled to host four players Saturday morning: guard Gerald Henderson of Duke, guard Terrence Williams of Louisville, forward Bryan Davis of Texas A&M and forward Ryan Amoroso of San Diego State.

Amoroso is a native of the Twin Cities. The

6-foot-8 product of Burnsville High School played two seasons for the Aztecs after two at Marquette. As a prep star, Amoroso led the Blaze to the Class AAAA state championship game in 2004. They lost to Chaska and Spencer Tollackson, who went on to play for the Gophers.

Coach Josh McDaniels made the announcement Saturday as the team readied for today's final day of on-field prep for training camp in late July. The former Chicago Bears quarterback took all the snaps behind the first-team offensive line during Saturday's practice.

Orton has been competing for the starting position with Chris Simms.

Orton came to Denver on April 3 as part of the trade that allowed the Bears to get ex-Broncos

No. 1 quarterback Jay Cutler.

Orton completed 272 of 465 passes for

18 touchdowns and 12 interceptions.

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. -- Texas A&M swept the team titles at the NCAA track and field championships on Saturday.

The Aggies had a dramatic finish to take the men's title, finishing with 48 points after a second-place showing in the 1,600-meter relay. That was the final event of the day, and if Texas A&M had finished one spot lower, it would have ended up in a four-way tie for the championship with Florida, Florida State and Oregon.

The women's finish was less tense. Texas A&M ended up with 50 points, seven ahead of Oregon.

The Oregon men were seeking a rare "Triple Crown" after winning titles in cross country and indoor track and field earlier this season.
