Quarterback sets NCAA single-game record with 736 yards passing; he'll face St. Scholastica in Duluth next week

GALESBURG, Ill. -- Eureka College quarterback Sam Durley threw for 736 yards to set an NCAA single-game passing record and give the Red Devils a 62-55 victory over Knox College in the Abraham Lincoln Bowl on Saturday.

GALESBURG, Ill. -- Eureka College quarterback Sam Durley threw for 736 yards to set an NCAA single-game passing record and give the Red Devils a 62-55 victory over Knox College in the Abraham Lincoln Bowl on Saturday.

Durley, who threw five touchdown passes, connected with Jake Bane on a 13-yard TD with 20 seconds left to give Division III Eureka College the victory and break the mark of 731 yards set by Menlo College's Zamir Amin in 2000.

Durley and Eureka College are scheduled to travel to Duluth next Saturday for an Upper Midwest Athletic Conference game against St. Scholastica at Public Schools Stadium. Game time is 1 p.m.

The Saints fell to visiting Whitworth University 28-13 on Saturday.
