Lynx add longtime Indiana guard Tiffany Mitchell

Minnesota also re-signed forwards Bridget Carleton, Damiris Dantas, Nikolina Milic and guard Lindsay Allen

The Lynx on Friday announced they have re-signed four players from last season’s team and added veteran Tiffany Mitchell, who has played seven seasons with the Indiana Fever.

Minnesota has re-signed forwards Bridget Carleton, Damiris Dantas, Nikolina Milic and guard Lindsay Allen.

Mitchell, a 5-foot-9 guard out of South Carolina, was the ninth overall selection by Indiana in the 2016. She averaged 6.5 points, 1.2 rebounds and 1.2 assists in 16.2 minutes a game for the Fever during last season.

The Lynx now sit in 11th place in the 12-team league, 1½ games behind Atlanta, New York and Phoenix who are tied for seventh. Minnesota has four games left, three against teams that would currently be in the playoffs.

Carleton was one of three Lynx players to appear in all 36 games last season, her fourth in the WNBA. She averaged 4.3 points and 2.1 rebounds. Dantas, a 6-foot-3 forward, was the 12th overall selection of the 2012 draft by Minnesota. She played in 15 games last season, averaging 5.1 points, 3.8 rebounds.

Milic, a 6-foot-3 forward, signed with the Lynx on a hardship exception contract last May and appeared in 31 games, averaging 6.0 points and 3.0 rebounds. Allen, a 5-foot-8 guard, played on a series of seven-day contracts. She appeared in the team’s last nine games, averaging 6.7 points and 3.4 assists.

The Lynx begin their 25th season on May 13 with an exhibition game against the Chicago Sky at Scotiabank Arena in Toronto.
