SOLON SPRINGS — Solon Springs' Izzy Molina had 13 kills and four ace serves, but the Eagle fell to Washburn 3-2 (22-25, 26-24, 19-25, 25-16, 15-13).
Bailey Monson added 12 kills and 17 digs to the effort and Kyra Latvala had 36 set assists and five ace serves for the Eagles.

“Tonight was a hard-fought battle all the way until the end,” coach Ciara Simenson said in an email. “Our front row started trying new things and our defense really stepped up for some long rallies. Unfortunately we came up short and lost the match.”

Other notable performances for the Eagles included Audrey Swanson with seven kills and 15 digs and Paetyn Simenson with 18 digs.
Proctor 3, Two Harbors 0
Proctor’s Ella Walker had 12 kills and seven ace serves as the Rails swept Two Harbors 25-16, 25-12, 25-14 Monday.

The Rails’ Reagan Rodberg, sister of 2021 News Tribune All-Area Player of the Year Payton Rodberg , had nine kills and five digs in the win.
Hermantown 3, Pine City 0
Hermantown’s Elle Jokinen had 17 kills and Alyssa Yokom had four blocks in a 25-20, 25-17, 25-21 win over Pine City.
Amari Nunez had 20 set assists and Hannah Hyjek had 18, while Jadyn Lind and Abbey McCubbin had 10 digs each for the Hawks.
Moose Lake/Willow River 3, East Central 1
Moose Lake-Willow River’s Alexis Hoffman had 15 kills and three ace serves as the Rebels outlasted East Central 25-18, 26-28, 25-14, 25-7.
Morgan Wigg joined Hoffman in double-digit kills with 13 and Laura Stephenson had 47 set assists for the Rebels.
Rice Lake 3, Superior 2
Superior took the first two sets, but couldn't hang on in a 20-25, 27-29, 25-23, 25-13, 15-7 loss to Rice Lake.
Carlie Lohman had 10 set assists, 10 digs and five ace serves while Khloe Zentkowski had five blocks for the Spartans.
International Falls 3, Hibbing 0
Hibbing’s Bevie Fink had 17 set assists and Ava Weyrauch had seven kills, but the Bluejackets still fell in straight sets 25-9, 25-16, 25-21 to International Falls.

Brooke Siekkinen, Ema Kivela and Jordan Fredette all had four kills for Hibbing.
Mille Lacs 3, Cromwell-Wright 0
Cromwell-Wright’s Sascha Korpela had seven kills and six digs, but the Cardinals fell to Mille Lacs in straight sets 25-14, 25-16, 25-16.
Siiena Anderson had 11 set assists and Kyra Granholm added six kills for Cromwell-Wright.
GIRLS SOCCER
Grand Rapids 3, Cloquet-Carlton 2
Grand Rapids senior Natalee Bushman scored scored twice, including the game-winner in the second overtime, to give the Thunderhawks a 3-2 win over Cloquet-Carlton Monday.
Ryan Martinson scored the other goal for the Thunderhawks, while Alexa Snesrud and Kiley Issendorf each talled one each for the Lumberjacks.
The loss snaps a 10-game win streak for Cloquet-Carlton.
Duluth East 2, Proctor 0
Duluth East’s Karyssa Clough and Taitum Snustad each scored in the first half to give the Greyhounds a 2-0 win over Proctor.
Maggie Winesett made six saves for the Greyhounds, while Brooklyn Burch and Peyton Walters combined for eight for the Rails.
