DULUTH — Rock Ridge boys hockey evened its record at 8-8-1 and surprised No. 6-ranked Duluth Denfeld on its home rink with a 6-2 win on Thursday at Essentia Duluth Heritage Center.

The Hunters beat the Wolverines by the same score in their first meeting on Dec. 14, which was the inaugural Wolverines game at the Iron Trail Motors Event Center in Virginia.

On Wednesday, Brant Tiedeman and Nick Troutwine staked Rock Ridge to an early 2-0 lead before the midpoint of the first period, and though Logan Nylund put the Hunters on the board 1:16 into the second, Dylan Hedley made it 3-1 just 26 seconds later before Tiedeman's second goal of the game made it 4-1.

Ian Kangas made 32 saves and Brennan Peterson scored a pair of third-period goals for the Wolverines.

Hermantown 8, Proctor 0

Ty Henson scored twice and Zam Plante had a goal and three assists as the top-ranked Hawks rolled to their 11th straight victory in Lake Superior Conference play.

Hibbing/Chisholm 3, Superior 2 (OT)

Kasey Kemp was the overtime hero as the Bluejackets overcame losing a 2-0 lead in the third period.

Nathan Rude and Keeghan Fink scored for Hibbing/Chisholm in the first period, but the Spartans rallied late, getting goals 21 seconds apart from Carter Pettit (shorthanded) and Trevor Anderson in the closing stretches of regulation to tie it up.

Duluth Marshall 58, Cloquet 55

A 28-point night from Regan Juenemann was just enough for the Hilltoppers to win at home. Ava Meierotto added 18 points for Marshall (8-9).

Duluth East 52, Bemidji 46

The Greyhounds took control of their home game with a 17-0 run in the second half, making the most of a balanced scoring effort. Macey DeRosier and Ashlynne Guenther led East (8-10) with 13 points apiece. Rachel Hagen added 12.

Superior 64, Hermantown 50

Emma Raye dropped a game-high 20 points to lead the Spartans to the Lake Superior Conference road victory and a 15-2 record. Savannah Leopold made five 3-pointers. She and Eva Peterson added 17 points apiece.
