Superior’s Ari Robillard allowed just one hit and struck out six in the Spartans’ 4-0 win over Carlton/Wrenshall Thursday at the NBC Spartan Complex in Superior.
Melania Luostari, Avery Visager and Kaylee Baker all hit RBIs and Emma Raye scored two runs for the Spartans.

Abby Mitchell was strong in the circle, holding the potent Superior offense in check, but the Raptors couldn’t get anything going at the plate. Mitchell struck out 10 batters and allowed five hits over six innings in the loss for Carlton/Wrenshall.

Maddie Asleson had the lone hit for the Raptors.
Superior’s pitching has allowed just one hit in its last two games.

Silver Bay 17, Floodwood 2
Silver Bay’s Hope Ernest went 2-for-3 with an RBI and two runs scored in a four-inning win on Thursday in Silver Bay.
Junior Danika Thompson allowed four hits over four innings and struck out five in the win and Katie Carpenter went 3-for-3 with three runs scored.
BASEBALL
Duluth Marshall 3, Rock Ridge 1
Duluth Marshall’s Owen Marsolek racked up 11 strikeouts and allowed four hits in the Hilltoppers; win Thursday at Wade Stadium.
Ethen Carlson had a two RBI single and Marsolek had a hit and an RBI. Eighth grader Aaden Westerbur added two hits.
Will Bittmann allowed six hits and struck out six in the loss for the Wolverines.
Jaden Lang scored in the top of the seventh for Rock Ridge.
Northwood/Solon Springs 14, Bruce 0
Northwood/Solon Springs sophomore Abe Ahlberg hit a grand slam and had five RBIs in a five-inning win over Bruce.
Ahlberg also allowed just two hits and struck out nine over four innings in the win for NSS.

Alex Slivensky hit his second home run of the week and joined Kaden Corlett and Colby Latvala with two RBIs each.
With the win, NSS clinched its second consecutive East Lakeland Conference championship.
TENNIS
Duluth East 6, Grand Rapids 1
Duluth East’s Ryan Delaney didn’t lose a game in his No. 1 singles match against Grand Rapids’ Blayne Mortenson as the Greyhounds took six of seven matches in the win Thursday.
The Thunderhawks’ Dylan Henrichsen picked up a win over Andrew Good in the No. 3 spot.
Dane Patten and Oscar Lindaman didn’t lose a game at the No. 1 doubles match for East with both the Greyhounds other doubles teams winning in straight sets.
