Two Harbors rallied to score three runs in the bottom of the seventh inning to open the Section 7AA high school softball playoffs with a 3-2 win over Esko on Tuesday at Two Harbors.
The Agates loaded the bases on a walk, an error and a bunt before Cammie Triggs brought one run home with a grounder and Sasha Fjeran and Madison Olson hit RBI doubles to clinch a spot in Thursday's quarterfinal round.
Olson tossed a three-hitter and struck out 15 for Two Harbors (12-5).

Denise Rodd threw a five-inning no-hitter as the host Lumberjacks won the 7AA first-round game.

Dalyce Gustafson hit an inside-the-park home run and Lizz Jezierski and Alyssa Michaelson each drove in two runs for Cloquet (11-4).

Marina Marlow allowed just two hits in five innings and Macie Dorow drove in three runs with a pair of triples in the host Greyhounds' 7AAA first-round victory.

Jessica Newman was 4-for-4, including three extra-base hits, and combined with Emily Thomsen on six RBIs in the host Bombers' 5A quarterfinal win.
Floodwood 6, AlBrook 5
The host Polar Bears survived a Falcons comeback to win the 7A first-round game.
Molly Johnsen struck out 11 for the winners.

Senior Jenna Massingill struck out 12 of 18 batters in throwing her second perfect game of the season as the Spartans won the six-inning, 7A first-round game in Keewatin.
Baseball
Duluth East 3-4, Grand Rapids 2-5
Grant Carlisle struck out the final two batters with the bases loaded as the Thunderhawks earned a doubleheader split at Wade Stadium.
East totaled 15 hits but stranded 16 baserunners in the second game to fall to 12-6. The Greyhounds' Mickie Keuning tossed a five-hitter and struck out four in the opener.
Hermantown 14, Eveleth-Gilbert 10
Cody Baker was 5-for-5 with three RBIs and three runs scored as the Hawks won the nonconference slugfest at Eveleth.

Justin Newman hit a three-run homer run, Josh Hogan added a two-run blast and Jordan Morse a solo shot as the host Bombers surprised the Rebels in a Polar League game.

Superior's Kraft among qualifiers
Superior senior Rob Kraft shot a 74 to tie for third at the Wisconsin Division 1 Hudson Regional at Hudson Golf Course, earning a spot in the Sectional 1 finals.
The Spartans tied Chippewa Falls for fourth in the team competition.
Ashland won the Division 2 Medford Regional by eight strokes over Hayward and Medford Area. Ashland's Drew Matheus and Northwestern's Justin Alexson were co-medalists with 73s. Hermantown on top in 7AA girls
Hermantown's duo of Callie Wilson and Olivia Tusa were one shot apart atop the scoreboard after the first 18 holes of the Section 7AA meet at the Quarry at Giants Ridge.
The Hawks hold a commanding 43-shot lead over International Falls in the team race. The final 18 holes will be played next week.
