Swanson, Perich lead Esko boys basketball over Superior

Nick Swanson scored 20 points and Makoi Perich finished with 19 in a 78-74 high school boys basketball victory for Esko at home against Superior on Friday.

Dalton Spindler had 14 points for Esko and Cuinn Berger hit three 3-pointers to tally 15 points in the win.

Superior was led by Jake Kidd's 20 points and Robert Olson's 19. Shane Leask had 18 points via six 3-pointers on Friday.

Bloomington Jefferson 65, Duluth East 58

Daniel Freitag's 32 points for Jefferson condemned the Greyhounds to their first defeat of the season and only their fifth loss in their last 38 home games.

Jobe Juenemann scored 18 points for East.


Virginia 102, International Falls 73

Jett Tomczak scored 43 points for the Broncos in a losing effort.


Grand Rapids 4, Eden Prairie 3 (OT)

Hayden DeMars' goal 4:05 into overtime on Friday gave the Thunderhawks the road win after Joey DelGreco tied the game at 3-3 8:37 into the third period.

Eden Prairie led 2-1 after the first period and 3-2 after the second as Jake Luloff scored twice, with his second goal coming shorthanded to put Grand Rapids down by one at the second intermission.

Samuel Sterle and Hayden Davis also scored goals for Grand Rapids while Thunderhawks goaltender Myles Gunderson made 23 saves.


Grand Rapids-Greenway 2, Hibbing-Chisholm 0

Kylie DeBay and Emma Moran scored for GRG in Friday's win while Makenzie Cole finished with 22 saves for the shutout.

Addison Hess stopped 34 shots for Hibbing-Chisholm.
