Moose Lake-Willow River rushed for 420 yards and built a 54-point halftime lead en route to cruising to a 75-0 victory over Mesabi East in a high school football nonconference season opener Thursday at Willow River.
Jake Disterhaupt and Chris Gassert each ran for two of the Rebels' nine rushing touchdowns and Nathan VanZee caught a 70-yard scoring pass and returned a punt 75 yards for another touchdown.

Tyler Goodrie rushed for four touchdowns, including a 55-yarder on the opening play, as the Rangers won the St. Louis County Conference season opener at Tower in a game called after three quarters due to lightning.
Goodrie rushed for 86 yards on nine carries and kicked six extra points. Quarterback Ryan Buria added 74 yards and two touchdowns on the ground and 126 through the air.
