International Falls junior Glenn Walls and Virginia sophomore Dakota Lundstrom shot 1-over-par 73s Wednesday to finish tied for eighth in the Minnesota Class AA boys golf tournament at Ridges at Sand Creek in Jordan, Minn. The event was cut to 18 holes when Thursday's second round could not be completed because of rain.

Orono won a third straight team title at 292 and Virginia was third at 305, one shot out of second place. Holy Angels Academy senior Jake Erickson was medalist at 69.

-- Eighth-grader Sam Eisenhuth of Babbitt-Embarrass-Soudan-Tower shot a 78 Wednesday to tie for sixth in the Class A meet at Pebble Creek in Becker, Minn. The event also was cut to 18 holes because of bad weather.

Ortonville claimed the team title at 311 and Mesabi East was sixth at 358. Frazee sophomore Beau Hanson placed first with a 71.

VIRGINIA'S KISHEL TIES FOR 10TH;

HAWKS FINISH FIFTH IN CLASS AA

Junior Emma Kishel shot an 80 to improve on her first-day total by four shots and tie for 10th place at the Class AA tournament at Sand Creek, the best finish among Northland girls. Teammate Melissa Hill was 22nd.

Minnewaska Area seniors Sarah Roering and Allie Ostrander shared medalist honors by shooting a 36-hole total of 6-over 150 to lead their team to a fifth straight title by one stroke over Red Wing.

Hermantown came in fifth with a 765 total. Senior Krista Anderson was the Hawks' top finisher, shooting 192 to place 57th.
