Scott Wasbotten scored a pair of goals to pace host Hermantown to a convincing 6-0 home victory over St. Cloud Cathedral on Friday night.

The state's 10th-ranked team offered little resistance against the explosive Hawks (11-2), who used a four-goal second period to turn this one into a rout.

Red-hot Hermantown goalie Jace Thomas stopped all 17 shots he faced.

The second-ranked Hawks won their third straight, while the Crusaders (9-5) lost for the fifth time in six games.

Eden Prairie 4, Cloquet-EC 2

Just as they've done all season, the Lumberjacks challenged a highly regarded opponent before running out of steam, this time against the No. 10 Eagles (9-4-1).

James Newgren scored both goals for CEC (5-9-1), the second of which made it a 3-2 game with 1:07 to play before Eden Prairie's Michael Graham produced an empty-net clincher.
