Prep report: Hawks top Superior, win LSC

Hermantown scored the final three goals to break a tie game and go on to a Lake Superior Conference-clinching 5-2 boys hockey home victory over Superior on Friday night.

The second-ranked Hawks (18-1-4 overall, 5-0 LSC) wrapped up a perfect conference season after sharing the title with Cloquet-Esko-Carlton a year ago.

Gianna Kneepkens scored 34 points and Grace Kirk added 32 as the host Hilltoppers cruised past the Rams in nonconference play.


The pair combined for 11 of Marshall’s 13 3-pointers.
