Prep report: Greyhound boys win sixth straight

Lee Melde made 17 saves in goal for Proctor. East's Evan Odean made eight saves and Chris Thomsen had two saves as they combined for the shutout. The Greyhounds (8-2-1) have won six straight games.

Duluth Marshall 3,Ashland 1

Peter Dock and Patrick Sheedy each scored in the opening two minutes as the Hilltoppers beat the Oredockers 3-1. Gustav Andren scored Ashland's goal and Gunnar Sengbush added a goal for host Marshall.

Duluth East 5,Proctor 0

Five players scored for the Greyhounds as Duluth East beat Proctor at Ordean Field. Kelsey Kehtel, Alix Hyduke, Tyra Kerr, Joey Moore and Kelli Klun each scored for East, who held the Rails without a shot on goal. Nicole Lind made 14 saves for Proctor.

Julianna McDonall scored her second goal of the game in the 75th minute to lift Duluth Marshall over host Two Harbors. Lacey Myrdal scored her Northland-leading 15th and 16th goals of the season for Two Harbors. Becca Dugdale had 13 saves for Marshall and Lucy Bukowski had five saves for Two Harbors.

Hibbing 3, Cloquet 0

The Bluestreaks won their 36th straight match against Northeastern Minnesota teams with a 25-16, 25-16, 25-13 win over Cloquet. Kate Lange had eight kills, 11 digs, two blocks and five set assists for Hibbing. Katie Konietzko had five kills and seven digs for Cloquet.

Blaine's Ari Meuhorter had 16 kills, 22 digs and three blocks as she led Blaine to a 25-9, 25-19, 25-17 win over the Greyhounds. Erin Tapper had three kills and 14 digs for Duluth East.

Cherry 3, Floodwood 2

Cherry was behind two games to none before coming back to beat Floodwood 13-25, 18-25, 25-18, 25-15, 15-7. Molly Parenteau had 24 set assists, nine digs and two kills for Cherry. Alissa Autio had nine kills for Floodwood.

Cotton 3,Mountain Iron-Buhl 2

Mckenzie Kowarsch had 35 set assists and four kills as Cotton came from two games down to beat MIB 25-27, 15-25, 25-16, 25-17, 15-10. Steph Simek added 21 kills and twelve digs for Cotton.
