Avery Peterson stretched his consecutive-games point streak to 37 as Grand Rapids downed Cloquet-Esko-Carlton 5-1 in boys hockey Thursday night in Grand Rapids.
Peterson got the scoring started in the first period, and the Thunderhawks (10-3) never looked back in winning their fifth straight.
Grand Rapids and the Lumberjacks played twice last season, with both contests resulting in a tie.

The Spartans scored four unanswered goals in the third period to top the Western Wisconsin All-Stars in New Richmond.
Emma Peterson notched a hat trick for Superior, while Jordyn Thompson, Devyn Moss and Ari Jago each scored twice. Justine Stenberg made 13 saves for the Spartans.
