Esko scored two runs in the bottom of the sixth inning to overcome a big inning by Cloquet and defeat the neighboring Lumberjacks 8-7 in high school baseball action Tuesday in Esko.
Cloquet scored six times in the top of the fifth to take a 6-3 lead before the Eskomos tied the game in the bottom half of the inning.
The Lumberjacks led 7-6 before the Eskomos rallied to win the nonconference game and improve to 12-4.
Superior 4, Hermantown 0
Mason Stenberg tossed a two-hitter and struck out 11 to pace the host Spartans to the Lake Superior Conference victory.
Kell Piggott’s two RBIs proved decisive.

Joe Udd allowed just one hit in 4 1/3 innings while Hunters teammates Owen Hinderman and Corey Miller each had three RBIs in the LSC victory.
South Ridge 18, Nevis 16
The visiting Panthers scored four runs in the top of the eighth and held on to earn the nonconference win.
Wyatt Olson and Jackson O’Bey each had five RBIs, with O’Bey drilling a three-run homer, while Jaxson Bennett doubled twice and scored five times.
Carter Anderson was hit by a pitch four times, which is believed to tie a state record.

Gracie Thomas threw a five-inning no-hitter, struck out eight and walked just one in the Hilltoppers’ nonconference win.

Tessa Paczynski homered and drove in three runs in the Hawks’ nonconference win.
Cloquet 14, Ashland 4
The Lumberjacks allowed only two hits and batted well up and down the lineup to win the five-inning LSC game.
